Cathy Fontana’s career of managing multifamily properties spans over thirty-five years. As the founder of Class A Management LLC, Cathy has grown a company to include residential, commercial, and retail management offering clients well over three decades of time tested experience.
Cathy has an acute understanding of immediate market trends, resident needs, and the expectation of invested capital returns. She has streamlined the process of utilizing information ascertained on site to enable the implementation of decisions that maximize asset productivity and delivered returns to the capital investment.
Senior Asset Manager
Debbie has spent the last three decades tending to the smallest details of the property management business. She assists with everyday financial and capital management details and maintains internal and external relationships, specializing in strategic initiatives to drive revenue and cost savings. Debbie’s contribution to Class A Management is an eye for detail when preparing annual operating budgets, monthly variance reports, and quarterly budget forecast reports for all managed properties. In addition, Debbie manages capital improvement projects from bidding through completion, on time and within budget. She oversees daily operations, onsite staff, and all contracted services at managed properties and handles all property rehabilitation projects and invoices. Debbie’s dedication to excellence is reflected in her recent awards, which include Regional of the Year, Circle of Excellence, and Class A Employee of the Year.
Melissa has 12 years property management experience with Class A Management. She has been successful in several different roles within the company, where she learned the fundamentals of corporate leadership and support. She was promoted from property manager to portfolio supervisor, before moving on to roles such as accounts payables supervisor, and human resource management. She is an essential part in the onboarding process of new assets, obtaining and securing management contracts with owners, and is committed to ensuring a smooth transition between all assets and ownership groups.
Julie oversees all aspects of the accounting process, including invoice and payment processing, preparing 1099 filings, and maintaining tax forms. She reviews the day-to-day operations of the AP Specialists, verifying all work is completed accurately and timely. She has a high level of proficiency with accounting software and general ledger systems and procedures. She finalizes month and year end close out procedures and develops reports for management and ownership groups. Her 10 years of experience and knowledge has been instrumental to the success of Class A Management accounting department. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.
Director of Operations
Kasandra began her career as a leasing agent and worked her way up to regional manager before taking on the role of Acquisitions Manager at Class A Management. She has experience in renovations, takeovers, property sales, and has strong leadership skills. She is responsible for the due diligence process of acquiring new properties and compiles all data into one report for potential owners and the property management team. Kasandra focuses on the implementation process of onboarding new assets into our management software and integrated partners and manages multiple implementation projects from start to finish. She also provides software training to both owners and onsite management teams. Kasandra’s extensive experience with over 15 years in the multi-family industry makes her uniquely qualified to lead our acquisition and implementation operations.
Terry began her career at Class A Management as an office manager and was quickly promoted to Head of Human Resources. She is responsible for performing all aspects of human resources, including payroll processing, new hire processing, time and attendance tracking, and personnel file maintenance. She ensures that all employees are adhering to company policies and guidelines. She recognizes and understands the importance of maintaining privacy and confidentiality. Her success is driven by her ability to courteous and professional, and treat others with honesty, fairness, and respect.
Christina oversees multiple on-site teams and assets, conducting training and providing owners with timely communications, reporting for all investment life cycle services, onboarding for newly managed properties, inspections, resident relations, and increased property NOI through onsite staff management. Her experience includes five years of progressive property management responsibilities and education, including military housing expertise, completion of the Grace Hill Training series, and Fair Housing certification. She was named Class A Management Manager of the Year in 2019.
With more than 26 years of experience in property management, Debra has spent the last 9 years as Regional Manager for the Class A team. Debra’s background in construction and asset management contributes to her expertise in distressed properties. Her daily duties include management of asset maintenance projects and providers, office management, planning, communications, employee training, and outreach.
Rachelle Taplin began her career in the multifamily industry in 2012 in Denver, Colorado. Rachelle’s passion to provide attentive, kindhearted, diligent service to her residents, employees, and company brought her to the Class A Management team. Her experience spans throughout Colorado, Arizona, Texas, and Oklahoma. She has successfully managed 500+ unit properties, is experienced in all asset classes, as well as lease up, conventional, affordable housing, HUD, renovations, and luxurious apartment living. Rachelle has a proven track record of increasing revenue, decreasing operating expenses, and implementing new strategies and procedures to boost operational efficiency and productivity.
Alejandro (Alex) Garcia
Alejandro Garcia comes to Class A Management as a well-accomplished and seasoned professional with more than 21 years of successful experience in the property management industry. His career has given him experience within a diverse portfolio of properties including multi-family residential, distressed communities, full renovation, and take-overs. Alejandro brings extensive knowledge in reputation management, property transitions, and training and development. He has strong budget and P&L management skills, vendor management experience, project management oversight, employee/tenant conflict resolution, and is focused on providing excellent service for his residential communities, and his tenants. Alejandro is an effective communicator and leader that always focuses on developing positive relationships within his property teams and vendors that service the communities and tenants.
Diana’s AP experience spans 25 years, the last five specializing in multi-family property management here at Class A Management. She manages the full accounts payable cycle from receipt of invoices to payment. This includes coding invoices, matching purchase orders, obtaining approval, and entering invoices into the accounting system. She investigates and resolves any problems associated with the accounts payable process in a timely and efficient manner to protect client interests.
Mandy reviews and processes invoices for assigned properties, ensuring timeliness and accuracy. She reconciles bank accounts for each property, researches and corrects discrepancies, and sets up vendor profiles within the accounting system. She is responsible for matching invoices to checks, distributing payments accordingly, and assists in month end closing. She is a dedicated and integral part of the Class A Management accounting team.
Suzanne brings over 10 years experience in accounts payables. She worked as a Real Estate Agent before coming to Class A Management and transitioning into the accounting department. She reconciles electronic bank statements and accounts monthly, reclassifies invoices, and processes purchase orders and invoices for her assigned properties. She proactively reviews and processes all payable matters for vendors and ensures prompt and accurate payment on all amounts due.
